How to Build Your First Haul: A Step-by-Step Guide
What Is a Haul?
A "haul" is a collection of items you purchase through a shopping agent over a period of days or weeks, which are then consolidated and shipped together in one package. Building a haul is the most cost-effective way to buy reps because international shipping is priced by weight, and heavier packages get better per-kilogram rates.
This guide is designed for first-time haul builders. We will walk through planning, buying, QC review, consolidation, shipping selection, and tracking. By the end, you will know exactly how to get 8–12 items from China to your door for under $100 in shipping.
Step 1: Plan Your Haul Budget
Before you buy a single item, decide your total budget. A typical first haul looks like this:
| Category | Items | Est. Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Sneakers | 2 pairs | $160–$280 |
| Clothing | 3–4 pieces | $120–$220 |
| Accessories | 2–3 items | $50–$120 |
| Subtotal | 7–9 items | $330–$620 |
| Shipping (6kg EMS) | — | $65–$80 |
Step 2: Browse and Add to Agent Cart
Use USFans Spreadsheet to find items. When you see something you like, open the product modal and click "Buy on USFans." This takes you directly to the agent's purchase form with the product preloaded. Alternatively, copy the Weidian link and paste it into any agent's "Buy for Me" or "Submit Order" page.
Pro Tip: Add items over 5–7 days instead of all at once. This gives you time to reconsider and prevents impulse buys. We have all bought a $50 item we never wore.
Step 3: Wait for Items to Arrive at Warehouse
Once you submit an order, the agent purchases from the Weidian seller. Items typically arrive at the agent warehouse in 3–7 days. You will get a notification when each item is received. Do not panic if one item takes 10 days — some sellers ship slower.
Step 4: Review QC Photos
This is the most critical step. Go through every item's QC photos carefully. Check stitching, logos, materials, and sizing. If something looks off, request an exchange immediately. Most agents allow one free exchange per item within 48 hours of QC upload.
Step 5: Submit for Shipping
Once all items pass QC, select them all and submit for international shipping. Choose your shipping line based on speed vs. cost (see our shipping guide). Remove shoe boxes and excess packaging to save weight. Consider vacuum sealing clothing.
Step 6: Track and Receive
Most shipping lines provide tracking within 24–48 hours of dispatch. Use 17track.net for universal tracking. Once the package arrives, film the unboxing. In the rare case of damage or missing items, video evidence is required for agent claims.
